Summer Horse Camps

Three levels of horse camp will enable all ages and abilities to enjoy riding over the summer. Whether you chose to participate in a one day camp, a 5 day camp or an overnight camp, you are assured a wonderful time full of fun, activities, learning and the companionship of a special horse.

Guided Trail Rides

By appointment only. Experience the Maine Woods on horseback! Our guide and outriders will lead you on a comfortable journey through the woods. No guarantees, but you might see deer, moose or other wildlife. You must wear long pants, jeans prefered, and riding helmets, provided by the stable. No riders under age 12. Groups are limited to 4 riders.

Special Events

Three or four times a year there will be special events, often on short notice, happening at the stable. Could be a weekend of trail riding with friends, a fun show, a cattle drive or just a great time with friends and horses. Send an email to KD Stable to be notified of special events.

Open Lessons

Everyone likes to ride a horse! I can offer affordable lessons in a calm relaxed atmosphere with a certified instructor. My style of instruction involves fun activities, games, balance and developing an understanding of horses along with a relationship with them. Riding is NOT just sitting pretty on a horse.

Horse Training

From young to old, both horses and riders need help at times. If you need an honest evalution of where you or your horse is at, I will help you out. I am able to take in a limited number of horses for training during the spring and fall months. I become too busy during the summer season to devote enough time to training horses for others. Owners are required to take part in the training or retraining process. It will do no good for me to teach your horse how to react and behave if the owner doesn't know how to ask in the same manner. Boarding

A limited number of stalls are available and rates will vary. Your rate is determined by the services you require for your horse and are discussed in detail before an agreement is reached between you and I. Horses are given as much turn out time as possible in a group setting. Each horse has a box stall (12x12) bedded with 8 inches of bedding. The barn is well planned with a wide alley, plenty of light and fresh air.
The grounds include 3 pastures, an outdoor arena and access to miles of trails and lakes.
Boarders are provided a seperate area for their equipment from the area provided for lessons. Stop on by, call or email for rates.

Pony Rides

I am often asked by summer visitors if they can bring a child to the stable to have a short pony ride. My response will vary depending upon the schedule of the day, but I will try my best to find a day and time that is convenient for all.
If a day and time is agreed upon, the child will stay in the arena, the horse will be led by trained personnel and all safety issues will be addressed. The barn will provide boots and a helmet as needed to maintain a safe atmosphere.
