About KD Stable

My Name is Deb McKay and if you love horses and love to learn, then KD Stable is the place to come. Horses and Horseback riding should be fun, relaxing and enjoyable. We leave the stress of competition to other barns. When KD Stable Riders attend a show, it is with a sense of fun, anticipation and relaxed attitude that fun is to be had and ribbons are just a bonus.

Everyone who rides at KD Stable should feel they belong to a larger family, supported by each member, known by all and enjoy their relaxing time here. Inviting friends to come share the fun is just one way KD Stable is different from others.

Riding at KD Stable, whether private or group lessons, begins with learning the horses at the stable, where everything is and how it all works. Riders learn to brush and saddle their own horse with help from Deb, Emily and Nate. No Princess Riders in this barn! Eveyone works to learn about horses, their care, their behavior and their equipment. If you don't know what a manure fork is for or how to use it, well, give it a visit or two and you will.

Riders who stay with KD Stable and help with other students earn the right to trail ride on horses of their choice and gain extra riding lessons. You get out of the stable what you put into it!

As the lead instructor, owner, operator and stall mucker of KD Stable, I am not afraid of work.

.....a member of the American Association of Riding Instructors, working towards certification.

.....a member of The Arabian Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association and the Maine Combined Training Association.

.....continually taking lessons with clinicians, instructors and trainers, attend seminars, and keep current in safety, training and teaching techniques.
