A solid foundation is important to any training. A review is done of every horse to search out 'holes" in their training. A plan is then set to fill those holes.
Mindset
As a trainer, I need to be certain I break down all training steps into the smallest possible steps to allow the horse to succeed. The owner must be ready, willing and able to work with the horse and I to learn the steps.
Unity
A team of trainer, rider and horse must be reached to encourage all to develop to the fullest. Knowledge of nature of the horse and the learning style of the rider is important for the trainer to have in order to provide each team member the most affective support.
Every horse can learn, but is every rider willing?
Q: How much training time will my horse receive?
A: This will depend upon the goals we set, his physical and mental ability and the willingness of the owner to participate.
Q: How do I set goals?
A: The owner and I wil discuss where they are at and where they want to be. What training does the horse or rider need to get to their goal?
Q: I just want to Trail Ride, how hard can that be?
A: Depends upon the horse. Have they been introduced to hazards on the trails? Traffic? Bird? Other horses? Do they have a good "whoa"?
Training Rates
Refresher - for a horse and rider needing that extra help to gain confidence with each other. Horse must be rideable. Rider must have some experience. $600
Beginner - for a horse and rider where one or the other is inexperienced or lacking in confidence. $800
What Did I Get Myself Into? - an evaluation of you and your horse, are you fitted for each other, what needs to happen to become a unit, how can we fix this? $100 for evaluation -- will be deducted from monthly training fee if we proceed to that step.
