Summer Day Camps
Day Camps are scheduled three ways.
Students may sign up for a weekly camp. They come one day each week, for the entire summer. The cost is $40 per day. The students bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks. The hours are from 9 am to 5:30 pm. They will have the same horse each time they come and will learn to ride, care for the horse, take lessons, do trail rides and learn mounted games. Those interested may also learn to ride in a drill team routine set to music. Having fun each day is guaranteed.
The second option is to come for 5 consecutive days in one week, Monday through Friday. Cost is still $40 per day, the students should also bring their lunch, drinks and snacks. The hours are from 9 am to 5:30 pm. They will learn to ride, care for horses, do lessons, go on trail rides, drill team, learn games on horseback and enjoy time at the stable. Fun and safety are a must for each day.
The third option is for riders under the age of 10, or those who may not wish to stay for an entire day. A four hour time block from either 9 to 1 or 1 to 5 will be scheduled. The cost is still $40 per day as the younger riders will have an older rider who will assist them and keep them safe throughout the day. I highly recommend the 9 to 1 schedule due to the days being hotter in the afternoon. This schedule is available only for a week long program, monday through friday.
The goal at KD Stable is to keep everyone safe, happy and busy with horses. The interests of the riders drives the daily schedule and therefore it is sometimes hard to describe what each day may bring. I might want to teach one area but find the students are more willing to learn a game that day. Whatever we do, safety is number one and fun number two.
Payment: Once a week camps, 2 sessions are paid the first week and weekly thereafter until the last week at which no payment is due.
Week long camps, payment for the entire week is due the first day of camp. |
